Mother's Day Gift Guide
With Mother's Day right around the corner, gift giving has been a topic circling in my mind. I know gifts themselves are not as valuable as the thought and care put into them, but they are still a nice gesture and seriously, who doesn't love getting gifts? I know in the past, my mom has definitely loved what I've bought her, but she has loved what I've made her even more. Some people like homemade gifts and others do not, I have everyone covered.
Homemade/ personal gifts:
1. Scrapbook- a great way to cherish memories, have a fun time, and use way too much glitter with no explanation!
2. Personalized book- like a scrapbook...minus the time consumption and overwhelming glitter. Apple makes great picture books, but for a more personal book, The Book of Everyone is amazing.
3. Picture frame- a nice house decoration and can be personalized for your mom's taste!
Jewelry- I know Jewelry isn't "homemade", but it can definitely be personalized. Jewelry with initials, or special words are so meaningful. Jewelry with meaning is so much more fun to wear because it reminds me of the story behind the piece and I am constantly thinking of the place I got it or person who gave it to me or whatever it represents.
My favorite jewelry places with personalized items are:
$28
Anthropology has so many great options at very reasonable prices!
- Catbird
$35-$200
Catbird is my favorite jewelry store. They have such different and wearable pieces to offer. If you ever find yourself in Brooklyn, I definitely suggest going to the actual store.
$600+
Although Dana Rebecca can get pricey fast, their jewelry is so classic and will go with almost any outfit. They have a great variety of personalized pieces, all incorporating initials!
Spa day necessities:
What mom doesn't like to take a break from their busy schedule and relax?
1. Face masks- a perfect way to soothe your skin and take some "me time."
$6
Sephora has so many options for their masks there's one for everyone's taste!
$58
I swear by PTR. Although it is on the more expensive side for a face mask, it works so well and this pumpkin mask smells like a PSL...it doesn't get much better than that. It clears my skin every time I use it and I am amazed every. single. time. Most PTR masks aren't for daily use, they last awhile, so you get a lot out of your buck!
- Fresh
$52
Fresh has so many different masks, there is bound to be one for whatever your skin desires. This set is from Sephora. Sephora has so many value packs that are worth checking out!
2. Candles- I've never met someone who doesn't like candles. There are endless candles and you can find them almost anywhere for a rage of prices. I always consider getting a lighter scent when I buy someone a candle because people are very particular with smells. My favorite candle brand that I have come across thus far is Nest. They have small versions for all their candles which is perfect for gift giving!
Candle trio- $64
Single mini- $16
Single regular- $64
3. Diffuser- what pairs better with candles than diffusers? Nest also has some of my favorite diffusers, but, once again, you can find them almost anywhere for various prices.
Nest diffuser- $44
4. Perfume- did you really think I would stop with the scents now? Perfume is another very personal item so make sure you either know the recipient's taste, or, go for something light and basic. I love so many different brands, but I suggest that whatever you get, get the smaller bottle because you never know if they will like the scent.
- Anthropology - so many affordable options and brand variety
$24
$65- $135
Fashion- for those of you looking to spend a little more...or at least make it seem like you did...buying clothing is very difficult because sizes vary, but you can't go wrong with some basic accessories!
1. Purses- everyone loves a new purse
$195
VS
- Chloé
$1,690
2. Wallets
$88
- Gucci
$360
I hope you enjoy your Mother's Day and find this gift guide helpful! Remember, it's not about the gift (although it's always nice), it's about the thought. So, make a nice card or send a meaningful text. Appreciate your mom a little extra today, she totally deserves it.
